In the book The Complete Persepolis there is another conflict. There is the conflict of social classes. The certain social classes are separated. They aren't allowed to be together as in getting married or something like that. In the book Marjane has a maid named Mehri. Mehri had to leave her house when she was only 8 years old and had to go work for Marjanes family. Mehri took care of Marjane as she grew up. Mehri fell in love with the neighbors son. Mehri couldn't read or write since she was a peasant so she had Marjane write letters for her to give to the boy next door. Once Marjanes dad tells the boy that Mehri isn't his daughter but is his maid the boy wanted nothing to do with her. Mehri was very upset. I feel like that is messed up and if you like somebody you should be able to be with them no matter what social class they are in.

Im reading The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. In this novel, a girl named Marji has a conflict. She wants to be a prophet but has trouble with it. A prophet is someone who claims to have been contacted by the supernatural or divine to speak for them. Every night she would have a big discussion with God. She tells people this and tells people that she wants to be a prophet. The problem is no one believes her and people laugh at her and think she's crazy. Her teacher went to her parents concerned about how Marji is saying she wants to be a prophet. Her parents then become puzzled on why she says this. When they ask her she lies and says she wants to be a doctor when she gets older. She then feels guilty towards God after lying saying she wanted to be a doctor and not a prophet. She tells God that she will be a prophet but no one must know. She is going through a conflict of wanting to be something but not being able to because people think shes crazy when she says that's what she wants to be.
